Chapter 27
Well... wow. That was fun.
Ever finish writing a scene and you have withdrawals? Yeah. That's me.
As I said in my last post, the scene I was writing for Chapter 27, the 30th chapter of the book, was one I've had in my head since the very beginning. Now that Richard has had the worst visited upon him, in some weird way I miss what I've done. If that makes sense. The chapter flowed smoothly and out of me and hopefully is as emotional as I imagined it so long ago.
Several times during this book I've had ideas arise that I didn't see coming until I was actually in the chapter—ideas that I ultimately put into the book. One of them happened in 27. I don't think what I did contradicts with what came before, but I am a little bit worried about it. When I go back to edit the book from start to finish, I'll be very conscious of that minor addition and make sure the rest of it lines up.
And the addition... it's a doozie. It's the first big twist at the end of the novel, one, I hope, that will take the reader by surprise. We'll see. I'm a terrible judge of such things when I am in the thick of it. There are a few more twists and turns here in these last few chapters, and I am looking forward to writing them as well!
As the word count stands:
So, next, Chapter 28. It is a Bran chapter, and as I've said earlier its a chapter I've known since the very beginning. I am super excited to write it. I am now in the thick of the climax and it is full steam ahead. God, I love writing this book!

Heh. I know what you mean, mate. Ever wonder if you're just an observer to your own story, scribbling down quick notes as it all plays out?
Happy writings, dude.
I know exactly what you mean.
My project, whether I ever complete it, publish it or not, I feel better for having been involved with it. I enjoy my characters, I enjoy understand them, and most of all being surprised by them.
But what I really enjoy is when one of them starts to think they are "all that" and I get to knock them back down again. :)
Another reason why I shouldn't have kids I suppose. haha
Captain Joe: First, cool name!
I see you are a fan of the Dark Tower books. How Stephen King described his relationship to the written world in Song of Susannah is true for me -- at least to a certain extent. King basically says he is a conduit for a higher power and he merely records what that higher power requires him to. Therefore he has no control or power; he is a scribe and nothing more.
Now, I have moments like that, where I feel like I have no power and some power beyond myself is inserting ideas into the book. That probably happens 15% of the time. The rest of the time I am in full control -- at least I think I am -- and I take pride in knowing I am in control.
But like I said, those "holy" moments, the times I am observing the story and not creating it, those are the truly fun and amazing times.
Incubus Jax: I know what you mean. Regardless if I find a publisher or not, I have been enriched by these characters. Isn't that an interesting notion: To be improved and enriched by fictitious beings? What does that say about the capacity for the human spirit to grow alone?
As for you having kids, don't do that to the world, man. Just... don't. :)
Very true my friend, very true (on both counts).
Could you imagine? Heh, actually, I'm starting to get an idea for a dystopian future piece... sweet.
Jax: Then you'd better work on it! Then give me 10% when you get published! :)

Hi there!
I would like to burn a theme at this forum. There is such a nicey, called HYIP, or High Yield Investment Program. It reminds of financial piramyde, but in rare cases one may happen to meet a company that really pays up to 2% daily not on invested money, but from real profits.
For several years , I earn money with the help of these programs.
I don't have problems with money now, but there are heights that must be conquered . I get now up to 2G a day , and my first investment was 500 dollars only.
Right now, I managed to catch a guaranteed variant to make a sharp rise . Turn to my blog to get additional info.
